Another poor performance saw Earley shed 6 goals and slip down into 5th. Back to back defeats have now seen Earley concede 8 goals, without scoring themselves - and it was s*~t to watch!
Again Earley were missing the usual workrate without the ball, standing off their opponents and giving a team languishing in the bottom three too much time and respect. Earley were also lacking confidence dictating, holding the ball up and keeping possession in the attacking half and instead tried to rush and force the ball through at 100mph, resulting in pinball football! In contrast the defence and mainly balding Baldlett sometimes over played as he looked to encourage the team to be more creative and keep the ball - but in the right areas of the pitch!
Earley will now be looking to re-group with lots of attitude (and players) in training on Thursday - RSVP now please. No match next week, but the following 3 weeks we have the top 3 teams all at home.

| Earley United | 3 | - | 2 | Henley Town |
A second half hatrick from leading goalscorer Howard saw Earley come back from behind to take their first points of the year. Despite trailing 0-1 at half-time, United were the dominant force in the first half but lacked the quality to unlock the visitors well drilled defensive unit. Manager Old MacDonald made 2 early subs in the 2nd half with sub Connolly pushing further forward to support Howard. The change had an instant effect with Lawes playing an early pin point telling through ball for Howard to blast home left footed from close range. Earley once again started to dominate and with 2 more similar type of goals from Dom which were set up by Luke and protein man Chris, they took a 3-1 lead.
Henley didn't give up though and Earley failed to control the remainder of the game and see the result out. And with 5 minutes remaining left back Baldlett was again caught out at the far post as he failed to track his winger who headed home to reduce the deficit. Reports that Baldlett was on the floor looking for tuffs of his remaining hair instead of tracking his winger are unfounded and all players are reminded to respect his increasing baldness and not to mention the word "hair" in front of him for the remainder of the season as the bald paceless tw@t may be offended.
Finally, congrats to Man of Match Howard on another well organised drug run, and in turn reducing his debts by another £30.

| Earley United | 1 | - | 2 | Purple Turtle |
Earley started the new year with a disappointing result against Purple Turtle. Despite the riches of of having 5 players on the bench Earley lacked quality to breakdown a determined and resilient Turtle team. Earley started well and had the better of the opening exchanges. Earley took the lead midway through the half through the penalty spot. Jack was tripped in the box and baldy balding Baldlett stepped up and slotted home his 3rd penalty of the season. The 2nd half started badly for Earley as they failed to deal with an in-swinging cross which went directly in off the far post. Turtles now with more confidence looked more threatening and the game opened up with both teams looking for the winner. Once again though another in-swinging cross this time from a corner was the un-doing of Earley as they conceded again. Earley huffed and puffed for the remainder of the game but never really looked like scoring. Earley look to get back on track next week with another home tie against Henley.

| Earley United | 8 | - | 1 | Charvil Rangers |
Earley moved into 5th, level on points with Eldon and 5 points off the leaders The Mod, with a comfortable victory over bottom club Charvil. Earley took the lead in the opening minutes where Jamie's left footed strike 20 yards out giving the vertically challenged GK no chance. Earley didn't look back from there and with the "play-maker" Perky back pulling the strings in the middle of the park they soon added further first half goals from Dom, Chris and a sliced free kick from Baldy Baldlett. Earley did concede though but with Luke playing at right back that was always going to happen! The 2nd half saw much of the same, Earley dominated possession. The ageing Perks was replaced by Schippers and he slotted next to the snotty Vini and "The Ledge" Chris. Earley scored a further 4 goals in the second half, Schippers and Jack both picked up their 2nd goals of the season and Chris and Jamie both picked up their 2nd of the match.

| 116 Exiles | 5 | - | 1 | Earley United |
A disappointing display saw Earley slip to their 3rd league defeat of the season. Once again Earley struggled to raise a team and they never got to grips with the bubbly pitch or with their opponents. With Dom absent Earley lacked a goal threat and some individual errors accounted for a number of Exiles goals. Just for the record these errors do not count towards your assists!
Fortunately Earley still remain in touch with the new leaders with Eldon and Bethel both losing their first league games of the season. Next week Earley are home to improving Charvil Rangers, who drew with Eldon a couple of weeks ago.

| Wokingham & Emmbrook | 3 | - | 4 | Earley United |
After a shortage of players over previous weeks Earley had the luxury going into the match with 3 subs. Grant finally making an impressive debut of the season at full back.
With competition for places heating up as we approach Christmas, Earley started well and took a well deserved 3-0 lead at half-time. Jack was involved in all 3 of the goals, he was hacked down in the area for the first, where the aging Baldlett stepped forward for the 2nd successive week to take the penalty. Thankfully he slotted it home, unlike a free kick which sailed so high and wide it threatened the passing trains. Earley’s 2nd and 3rd both came from the left, where the Wokingham / Emmbrook full back could not cope with Jack’s pace and directness. He hurdled a number of challenges before crossing for the prolific Dom to nuts the GK from close range. Earley’s 3rd was identical with this time Jack cutting in to score his first goal of the season, (although the selfish Dom was prepared to clatter into a post to try and get the last touch!)
The 2nd half saw the opposition change tack and become more physical to get back in the game. Sloppy defending saw Wokingham / Emmbrook pull 1 back in the opening minutes, and gave them the encouragement they needed. Wokingham / Emmbrook were now clearly targeting the key Earley players in a hope to get back in the game. Lawsey :) was first to limp off followed by Jack. With Earley already making their 3 sub Earley were forced to finish the match with 10 men. Despite being a man down they soon increased their lead after an inswinging corner from Baldlett was met by Dom on a trampoline who powered home a bullet header. Wokingham / Emmbrook would not give up though and scored 2 further goals late on, but Earley held on to take the 3 points
Next week Earley face 116 Exiles for the 3rd time this season. Another big squad is hoped for, but Dom is off to his Nan’s to rob something else from her so he can pay his mounting of sub debts.

| Earley United | 1 | - | 3 | Eldon Celtic |
Earley took a well deserved lead through a Bartlett pen, after Jacko was pulled down on one of his mazy runs. Earley should of added to their lead with a number of guilt-edge chances. However 2 goals from defensive errors in the last 10 minutes saw Eldon go into the break with a 2-1 lead.
Earley started the 2nd half strongly but 15 minutes in, a slow-mo shot from Eldon from the edge of the box following a set piece somehow drifted into the far corner of the net. With Eldon now leading 3-1 for the remaining 30 mins they sat back giving Earley lots more possession, however they were unable to capitalise.

| Earley United | 6 | - | 3 | 116 Exiles |
Earley extended their unbeaten run to 6 games with a 6-3 victory over 116 Exiles at the fortress Sol Joel. Earley somehow scraped together 11 men for the fixture although a few players could and should of arrived and left via ambulance. Earley started well and with 15 minutes to go in the 1st half looked comfortable being 3-1 up with goals from Dom, Franky and James. With James now hobbling like an old man he came off the pitch to run the line so veteran manager MacDonald could get kitted out. Exiles seized the initiative and exploited the numerical advantage and quickly drew level with two hotly disputed offside goals, which were not flagged by the limping lino. Half-time 3-3.
With Earley now back up to 11 ish men with veteran Tain managing at last to get on the pitch, Earley once again dominated the 2nd half proceedings with a further 3 goals. A right-footed strike from 25 yards from Luke was the pick of the goals and Dom completed his third hatrick of the season with a further 2 well taken (individual as ever) goals.
Earley defended well with Pagey and his one good thigh muscle and Vini and his one good knee giving their front line a tough time. Hedgo was often just a spectator in the 2nd half with only some dodgy back passes to keep him warm.
Next week Earley will be facing Exiles again, this time away in the League Cup 2nd round. The winners of which will be heading into the quarter finals. Reinforcements hope to be drafted in for the must win cup tie. London Cockney Grant has confirmed and will be looking to make his debut for the season and Jamie returns from another one of his holidays. Meanwhile paceless veteran Bartlett is again missing as he struggles to come to terms with his balding head and massive ears...

| The Mod | 2 | - | 2 | Earley United |
Earley came from behind twice to pick up their 3rd consecutive league draw and dropped into mid-table as a result.
Earley started like a team who had not played in a fortnight, and plans were disrupted when GK Hedgo text in with flu 40 mins before KO and Lewis was subbed inside 15 mins with a bad back, clearly his age is starting to show...
With Earley still re-organising, a speculative long ball over the top from The Mod saw them take the lead, by lobbing the stranded Carlo.
Earley struck back from a well taken 25 yard free kick from the balding Bartlett. Although Jack was setting himself to take the free kick the ageing, paceless defender wondered by aimlessly looking for his hair net and found himself close enough to the ball and decided he fancied his luck and by moving the quickest he had all game he took his chance beating Jack to the ball and beating the flat footed, vertically challenged short-sighted GK to his right hand side.
However Earley were once again went a goal down after further slack defending and trailed 2-1 at half-time.
The 2nd half saw a much improved performance from Earley and midway through the 2nd half a flowing move saw Jamie nose home the equaliser after a fine cross from the left hand side from Jack.
Earley pushed for the winner and the home GK made a host of fine saves, including three 1-on-1s to deny Earley the 3 points. Next week will see Earley play their first HOME league game v 116 Exiles at the fortress Sol Joel.

| Y.M.C.A. United | 1 | - | 1 | Earley United |
With leaders 116 Exiles getting beat 5-2 away to Bethel Utd, Earley missed their chance to take top spot in the Division.
With the ageing, drunk and paceless defender Bartlett on the bench Earley looked a better balanced team and started impressively with some crisp passing moves which opened up the Henley defence at will. Having pawned his Nan's freeview box a week earlier the now wealthy Dom Howard completed an unusual double by opening the scoring with a well taken left footed strike and paying SOME of his subs - Legendary, more of the same please Dom...
Earley continued to dominate possession and chances, however midway through the 1st half a speculative punt up the field by YMCA saw them gifted a goal after a miss-judgement from GK Hedgo......Soon after Carlo was seen warming up in hope of a call up from the boss, however as no one else wanted to run the line he was left holding the flag...
The 2nd half saw Earley continue to dominate possession on the slick grassy surface but unfortunately the red and white stripy goal nets which were so sadly admired by Luke were not needed in the 2nd half as every strike at goal was either saved well by the home GK, cleared off the line or more often than not sent high and wide.
With Earley pushing forward for the winner they left themselves open defensively at times - particularly with sloppy Bartlett now on the pitch, and could have lost the match had YMCA been more clinical with their chances. But 1-1 it finished and despite scoring 21 goals in the previous 6 matches, shooting boots are needed for the next match!

Earley scraped through into the 2nd round of the league cup thanks to a brave bullet diving header from Veteran Chocki in the 1st half of extra time.
Earley fully utilised their squad with 3 (nearly 4 Grant) players making their debut of the season. Despite the changes Earley were 2-0 up inside 20 minutes where 2 incisive breaks which saw Luke grab his 3rd & 4th goals of the season.
The 2nd half saw the Vic grasping the initiative with aid from their long balls, set pieces and long throw-ins. And along with some sloppy defending the Vic found themselves leading 3-2 with just 10 minutes remaining. Enter veteran Robert Dylan Page. Jack's long throw was smartly flicked on goal wards by Lawesy where the ageless and pacey Page ghosted in from the right and rising salmon-like he rolled back the years to bravely head home the equaliser to take the match into extra time - great another 30 minutes, cheers Pagey!
Extra time saw The Vic reduced to 10-men after a late lunging challenge on Baz or was it Naz, before the Chockmeister scored the winner with his first strike in 18 months. Earley hung on and saw the game out.
After consulting The Vic and their hostile home crowd MOM award went to that number 15 - Jason Edwards.
Next week Earley return to league action against Henley YMCA.

Earley battled out a 4-4 draw in the blistering October heatwave to remain 2nd in the league table. Two strikes from Connolly and another from top scorer Howard gave Earley a 3-2 lead at the break. However 2 goals (including a penalty conceded by the inept Bartlett) in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half left Earley chasing the game. With no subs available Earley had no fresh legs to bring on, so had to rely on their players fitness and put to good use all of that pre-season training. Midway through the 2nd half Franky Senyek levelled the scores from an acute angle with his first goal for Earley. Both teams looked for a winner and had good chances to take all 3 points, but the game ended in a draw. ***** MOM Chris Jude *****
Next week Earley concentrate on the league cup against Div One West team Victoria Arms, and are without top scorer Dom Howard who is away seeing his Nan !

A good result against a poor Charvil team where a few players seemed intent on being complete twats, one of whom got sent off. Dom opened the scoring with what will be the quickest goal of the season and quickly added a 2nd. New signings James Killian and Graeme MacLachlan, completed the first half goals making it 0-4.

Earley Utd picked up 3 points in their opening game of the season. It was their first opening game victory in 6 years, when 2 goals from Richie Carpenter defeated Barton Rovers 2-1 in 2006.
Two strikes from last seasons top goal scorer Dom "Pot-Less" Howard and a header from debutant Nick "Bendtner" Schippers sealed their victory in torrential rain.
Earley played well throughout despite the hostile capacity home crowd! But they nearly paid the price for a host of missed opportunities, including already the miss of the season, and some slack defending late on.
